Benmore Estate offers some of the most varied stalking terrain, providing the perfect hunting grounds for those wishing to enjoy the most traditional Highland sporting activity.

Traditional methods of stalking red deer in Scotland have remained unchanged for centuries and they continue to this day. At Benmore Estate we aim to balance the wild deer population through selective culling which in turn promotes a healthy and productive deer population. Hinds are selected to favour those with good confirmation and strong calves.

Hind stalking can be challenging especially during the changeable weather and shorter daylight hours throughout winter but it can also be incredibly rewarding.

Our hind stalking is offered from November until 15th February and we can accommodate up to 3 stalking parties on the hill per day. Our professional stalkers, Donald, Andrew and David will accompany and guide you throughout the day, offering expert advice and tuition when required.

Benmore Lodge is located in beautifully secluded position on the banks of Loch Ba. This sympathetically newly renovated and reimagined Victorian home, with it’s sumptuous down duvets and pillows, fluffy towels and ample hot water, provides the perfect sanctuary after a day on the hill.

Safety & Policy

On the day of booking, the hunter will be taken to the Estate’s shooting range with the Stalker before heading out to the hill for the first stalk. This is an important phase to establish that the hunter is comfortable with the rifle, and knows how to handle it safely, and their aim is accurate. Guests are welcome to use and Estate rifle when stalking on Estate grounds, or they may provide their own.

Please note stalking outings are always accompanied by an Estate Stalker. All carcasses remain the property of the Estate, but joints may be available to purchase separately if you wish to take some home with you.
